LaCour, caregiver and family genealogist, dies at 65

Mrs. Kathleen LaCour, 65, of 29 Abbot Street, died Saturday, December
3 of natural causes.
Kathleen was born in Boston on Sunday, April 21, 1940 and was a
retired childcare provider to her self-owned Children’s Hours
Day Care. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church on
Shawmut Avenue in Boston.
Kathleen was the daughter of the late Coleman W. Hollis of Quitman,
GA and the late Catherine Rickey Hatfield of Madison County, VA.
She was married to George LaCour currently of Dorchester, and although
separated, was married for 37 years.
Kathleen will be joining in heaven her beloved sisters, the late
Coline Hollis, the late Martha “Mickey” Tillie and the
late Leslie Hollis as well as her beloved brother, the late Harvey
Hollis. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Hollis of Long
Beach, California; her granddaughter, Stephanie K. Hollis of Dorchester;
two sisters: Julia Thimas of Middleboro and Mary Hollis of Los Angeles;
and two brothers: Newell Richard Hollis of Boston and Coleman J.
Hollis of Lancaster, Calif. She also leaves behind a host of extended
family and friends.
More than anything, Mrs. LaCour loved her family and spent the last
healthy years of her life working tirelessly to put together her
family tree, her efforts were halted by illness.
Mass was held in her honor at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations
