High Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is the force exerted on your artery walls as blood flows through your
body each time the heart pumps. The arteries carry oxygen and nutrients to your muscles
and organs. Blood pressure varies throughout the day. It is lowest when you’re at rest and rises when you are excited, nervous, or active.
If your blood pressure remains high —
140/90 or above — you have high blood pressure.
