Signs and Symptoms

There generally are no symptoms in the early stages of chronic kidney disease. As the disease progresses, the symptoms can include:

• Fatigue and decreased energy

• Poor appetite

• Muscle cramping, especially at night

• Trouble sleeping

• Swollen feet and ankles

• Puffiness around the eyes

• Need to urinate more often, especially at night

• Dry, itchy skin

• Loss of appetite
