How do you think the NAACP
can help solve today's problems?

They need to seek more influence in the neighborhoods, talking to the kids. That’s what they can do for me because a lot of kids are not connected with what’s going on except what’s going on in the streets. Steven Stanley

The NAACP should be more outspoken and be heard. They have the power. We are not hearing too much from them. Raphael Steinson

The NAACP can’t do anything for me right now. Barbara White
Entrepreneur
Hyde Park
The NAACP should get involved with the youth like we were when we marched and protested. The young kids don’t take the NAACP as seriously as we did years ago. Getting the kids involved in the struggle would be more than enough for me. Irvin Jones
Administrative Assistant
Boston
The NAACP needs to get out of the offices, into the streets and focus on more young people. I don’t think they live in the past so much, but I believe the things they do are obsolete for what they need to be doing today. Robert Thompson
Chef Manager
Roxbury
The NAACP has lost touch with the community. It was good in the ’70s and early ’80s, but they started to fizzle out in the late ’80s coming to the ’90s. They didn’t come around the neighborhood no more. William Singleton
