Last Thursday, Reebok kicked off its Diversity Initiative with the program Black Women Making History. The event was held in honor of Women’s History Month and Black History Month. Denise Kaigler (center), head of Global Communications and first African American woman on the Reebok Senior Management team, moderated a panel discussion that featured women who were the first African Americans to hold their positions, including (left to right): Andrea J. Richard Smith (second from right), president of R.T. Smith and Associates, a consulting firm that provides assistance to those involved in art, education and health care, played a major role in promoting Dr. Leon D. Pamphile’s book, “Haitians’ & African Americans’ Struggle Against Racism Through the NAACP.” Smith’s work has earned him a Humanitarian Recognition Award from Harvard Law School. He is also the former assistant publisher of New England’s Black Weekly Newspaper.
