Toni Wiley

Dorchester resident Toni Wiley was recently named executive director of One Family Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission is to end family homelessness in Massachusetts by advocating for effective public policies and support systems that empower families. To help facilitate that goal, One Family also provides scholarships and leadership training to formerly homeless and at-risk mothers.

Wiley joined One Family in 2004 as mentor coordinator for the One Family Scholars Program, a comprehensive program providing support and opportunities for growth to low-income women — most of whom are homeless or formerly homeless and have children — who are ready to pursue higher academic achievement.

“We are delighted that Toni is our new executive director,” said Dan Fireman, chairman of the board for One Family Inc. “During her tenure here, she has been unswerving in her belief that family homelessness is unacceptable and solvable, and fearless in seeking the solutions to end it.”

Prior to beginning her duties at One Family, Wiley gained corporate management experience with TJX Companies, New Balance Shoes, Stride Rite Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation.

She also served as associate executive director and chief operating officer for Jane Doe Inc.: The Massachusetts Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence. Wiley has served as a consultant to many nonprofit organizations, including the Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education and the United Way of Massachusetts Bay.

Wiley’s private sector management experience and proven commitment to the families One Family serves made her an ideal candidate to lead the organization and to help it grow while staying true to its mission.

“I look forward to continuing our work to eliminate family homelessness in Massachusetts,” said Wiley. “It’s an extraordinary opportunity and challenge I am ready to meet, for the good of all homeless families in the Commonwealth. They deserve no less than our total commitment.”

Wiley lives in Dorchester with her daughter.
