Dr. Zan Wesley Holmes Jr., Community Activist, Minister, Former State Legislator, and Author. Open House for the Community. 5 p.m.: Meet Principal Ayla Gavins and hear about the school from students and parents. 5:45 pm: Join the school community for supper and games. 2008 Annual Melvin H. Chalfen, MD, Lecture on Public Health: “In the Wrong Place at the Wrong Time: Violence Narratives and Public Health Policy”
Cambridge Health Alliance presents the 2008 Melvin H. Chalfen, MD, Lecture on Public Health, featuring John A. Rich, MD, MPH, Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Management and Policy at Drexel University School of Public Health. Dr. Rich previously served as the Medical Director for the Boston Public Health Commission and was the Founder and Director of the Young Men’s Health Clinic at Boston Medical Center. A reception will follow the lecture, which is free and open to the public. 5 p.m. Cambridge Health Alliance’s Cambridge campus, Macht Auditorium, 1493 Cambridge St., Cambridge. Free of charge.
