TEMPORARY POSITION FOR RESEARCH PROJECT ASSISTANT

The Prescription Project seeks to eliminate conflicts of interest caused by pharmaceutical marketing to physicians. It is led by Community Catalyst with funding from the Pew Charitable Trusts. Community Catalyst is a national not-for-profit consumer advocacy organization working to build a health justice movement.
The project is seeking two part-time staff to oversee the collection and scoring of a national assessment of conflict-of-interest polices at academic medical centers.
This temporary position will entail 20-30 hours/week for a month from early December to mid-late January with occasional hours thereafter. Staff will be trained and supervised by the Director of Policy & Strategic Communications.
· Score policies using developed methodology
· Work with other rater to reconcile differences in scoring
· Coordinate with Director of Policy & Strategic Communication when necessary
· Enter scores into database and post final scores to web
· Some health policy knowledge or experience in a health or academic medical center environment
· Ability to interpret policies and make sound judgments
· Minimum of a bachelors degree and five years of policy- or health-related experience
· Experience with survey administration and evaluation desirable
· Strong research and analytical skills
· Excellent organizational skills
· Proficiency with standard software including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation. Ability to use existing database and simple web software
