“CONNECTIONS”
Kick-Off to 2007 ParkARTS Program

Come out and celebrate Nova Scotia and Massachusetts’ common roots at Copley Square. Nova Scotia Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage in cooperation with the Boston Parks Department introduce CONNECTIONS, a kick-off event to this year’s ParkArts program. The Province Nova Scotia Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage will provide toe-tapping entertainment featuring Celtic music, highland dancing and a special feature where Bostonians can search online with the Nova Scotia Archives to discover their Nova Scotia roots. Come and discover and celebrate the rich connections between Nova Scotia and Boston. Event for the whole family to enjoy! Friday, June 1, Noon-2 p.m. & 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday, June 2, 12 p.m.-6 p.m. (Times are subject to change) Copley Square, Boston. Free and open to the public. 303 Loft Series
Acoustic music performance and open mic. 7 p.m., $10 admission. Open mic sign-up begins at 6:30 p.m. The 303 Loft Series started out as an idea to run a small house concert series in one of the lofts in Downtown Lowell. The purpose of the series is to give acoustic performance artists a welcoming and friendly venue to perform while building community in Lowell and the surrounding areas. The series will connect many area businesses in support of each other and our local artists, with a focus on Downtown Lowell. “Art on the Wing: A Migrating Exhibition of Temporary Installation Art”
Studios without Walls at Mass Audubon’s Boston Nature Center. “Art on the Wing” celebrates birds, nature and much more! Come explore the many imaginative works of art, here on the grounds of the beautiful Boston Nature Center. Artist from around Boston have come together to evoke a sense of connection between humans and our precious natural world. Through June 3 at the Boston Nature Center. Open House to Celebrate Cambridge Health Alliance’s New CHA Malden Family Medicine Center
Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) will host an Open House to celebrate the new state-of-the-art CHA Malden Family Medicine Center. The public is invited to meet the doctors and staff and get a sneak preview of the beautiful new location before its June 18 opening. The event is from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. with a formal speaking program at 4:15 p.m. followed by refreshments and tours. Invited speakers include Congressman Edward J. Markey and Malden Mayor Richard C. Early Explorers at the Boston Nature Center
Join us for a fun filled morning of nature exploration, games and stories! The topic of our program will be BUTTERFLIES. We will investigate our own butterfly garden and try to find as many beautiful species of butterflies as possible. 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Ages 3-6 with adult.
