The event, sponsored by the Boston Public Health Commission, Children’s Hospital Boston and the YMCA, is a fun-filled day for children with asthma and their families. The Academy of Kamitic Education Right Relationship and Right Knowledge held its graduation ceremony on June 24 at Roxbury’s Page Academy. The graduates completed a nine-month program called “Ka Ab Ba: Building The Lighted Temple,” an African-centered model for personal development. At Alpha Kappa Alpha’s scholarship ceremony, held last Saturday at the Museum of the National Center of Afro-American Artists in Roxbury, six young ladies received awards ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 in recognition for their accomplishments.
