Corita Kent Arts & Culture Talks Lecture Series Presents Author Michael Patrick Macdonald Discussing “Easter Rising”
The Dorchester Arts Collaborative (DAC), Dorchester Historical Society (DHS) and Commonwealth Museum present the second installment of the Corita Kent Arts & Culture Talks, with a conversation between author and South Boston native Michael Patrick MacDonald and Boston Magazine columnist Joe Keohane. The lecture series is named for artist Corita Kent, best known for her Rainbow Gas Tank near the Southeast Expressway in Dorchester. This Irish-American themed program for St. Patrick’s Day is FREE and takes place at the Commonwealth Museum, 220 Morrissey Blvd., Dorchester (in between UMass Boston and the JFK Library) at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7. The Tale of Three Trees

The Cambridge Licensee Advisory Board (CLAB) announces its 2008 St. Patrick’s Day Weekend safeRide Program in association with the City of Cambridge License Commission and Ambassador/Brattle radio service. The Cambridge safeRide Program will provide free taxicab rides for St. Patrick’s Party revelers leaving from Cambridge licensed Alcohol establishments and traveling to residential addresses. This program, designed to deter driving under the influence, will be in effect in Cambridge from 7 p.m., on Saturday, March 15 until 4 a.m., Sunday, March 16. There is a $35 cap on cab rides.
